Sesame Negroni: Shochu cocktail with character
May 29, 2020
The Negroni is an extremely popular cocktail, whether mixed at home or drunk in your favorite bar. The great thing about this cocktail is that the alcoholic (basic) base, which is actually gin, can also be varied. The Negroni always tastes good! Even in a variation with shochu. We created the "Sesame Negroni" today for "Sesame Shochu Day", which is always celebrated in Japan on May 29 each year.
Sesame Negroni:
- 4 cl Beniotome Red Maiden Sesame Shochu
- 2 cl Campari
- 2 cl red vermouth (e.g. Mascaro Siset)
- 2 cl allspice Green bell pepper Shochu
Preparation:
First pour the sesame shochu, then the Campari, then the vermouth and finally the allspice shochu into a mixing glass with plenty of ice. Stir the contents for around 30 seconds and strain into a tumbler.
Cheers & Kanpai!
