Spring drink: Cosmopolitan in the 1934 recipe

Spring drink: Cosmopolitan in the 1934 recipe

It's finally warm outside! The beautiful weather makes you want a refreshing and fruity drink. This recipe for a Cosmopolitan comes from the book "Pioneers of Mixing at Elite Bars" from 1934. Whether this was the first Cosmopolitan ever mixed is unfortunately unclear. What is clear, however, is that gin was used here instead of vodka and the raspberry syrup replaces the color and fruit elements of the cranberry juice usually used. And it is also clear that the 1934 version tastes delicious. So have fun mixing it up!

Ingredients:

4cl gin e.g. Wa Bi Gin or Nikka Gin
1cl Cointreau
2cl freshly squeezed lemon juice
1cl raspberry syrup or 3 fresh raspberries
Preparation:

Put all the ingredients in a shaker, shake well with plenty of ice and double strain into a chilled martini glass. Enjoy the taste! Cheers & Kanpai!
