Sakura, sakura, sakura: the cherry blossom season has begun in Japan!

For the Japanese, there is hardly a more important time of year than the cherry blossom, known there as sakura. The blossoms are a symbol of renewal and hope, and with the onset of blossoming, numerous festivals are held around the flower show, known as hanami in Japanese. The cherry blossom season in Japan is currently in full swing and the trees are in full bloom in many places.

The cherry blossoms start to bloom a little later than in Japan. You can bring the cherry blossom home with some of our products. We present them to you here.

Dover Sakura Liqueur

Fantastic drinks can be conjured up with Dover Sakura liqueur . Only Oshima cherry blossoms are used, which are particularly fragrant. For example, you can easily mix a Sakura Spritz (3cl Sakura liqueur, 120ml sparkling wine, 50ml soda), or a Sakura Negroni (simply add 1cl Sakura liqueur to the normal recipe).

JIN7 Series 02 Sakura Cask Finish

A barrel-aged gin from the house of Oyama Jinchichi Shoten: The JIN7 Series 02 Sakura Cask Finish matures for six months in barrels made from Japanese cherry blossom wood. As a result, JIN7 Series 02 has a subtly floral aroma, a light scent of cherry blossoms and an exciting complexity. The 10 botanicals used in this gin are successfully integrated through the barrel ageing process and are paired with the elegant aroma that only a sakura barrel can offer.

DEN-EN Gold Sakura Cask Shochu

A particularly fine droplet from DEN-EN Shuzo: DEN-EN Gold Sakura Cask is a barley shochu (mugi shochu) and is aged for over three years in sakura casks, i.e. casks made from Japanese cherry blossom wood. The DEN-EN Gold Sakura Cask therefore has a subtly floral aroma, a light scent of cherry blossom and an exciting complexity. It is a Genshu Shochu, which is bottled at 40% vol. A great specialty on the shochu market.
