Shochu is particularly refreshing in summer, as the Japanese cult drink does not usually have a high alcohol content. A good way to enjoy shochu in summer: Pour 5 cl into a tumbler and fill the glass with ice. And your summer drink is ready!

The Japanese drink shochu in many different ways. A very popular way, especially in summer, is to fill shochu with warm water. This is called oyuwari. Another popular method is to add cold water, which is called mizuwari in Japanese. On the rocks, i.e. with plenty of ice, is a popular way to enjoy shochu in summer in Japan.

All drinking methods have one thing in common: the Japanese love their shochu with food. As shochu can be made from many different ingredients, the flavors are very diverse and multi-faceted and fit perfectly into a menu. Give it a try, shochu also goes very well with Western food.

Shochu is also the spirit with the fewest calories, as no artificial additives are used. 6 cl of shochu have just 35 Kcal. In comparison: vodka has 120 Kcal per 6cl, whisky even 135 Kcal.

For Shochu on the rocks we recommend the iichiko Person, the Hokkaido Kiyosato, the Hokkaido Kiyosato Cask
or the Beniotome Sesame Shochu . Each of these shochus has only 25 % vol.
