Kanoshizuku Craft Gin from Yomeishu comes directly from the Japanese Central Alps and is made with 11 botanicals. The main botanical is kuromoji, also known as fever bush, a laurel plant that is often used in Japan to extract essential oils. The thin branches of kuromoji are known for their refreshing aroma. The other botanicals, citrus fruits and spices, emphasize the aroma of kuromoji, which is reminiscent of a forest with fresh greenery. This gin is a masterful combination of craftsmanship, Japanese flavors and contemporary elegance. Kanoshizuku is the "entry-level" craft gin from Yomeishu. With its light alcohol content, it is accessible, elegant and ideal for connoisseurs who enjoy mixing. Also discover Kanomori Gin, the "premium" gin from Yomeishu.

Kanoshizuku Gin impresses with its balanced bouquet: a fresh, invigorating aroma of cool citrus air, interspersed with kuromoji notes that are immediately reminiscent of a walk in the forest. Light and elegant on the palate, this gin pairs beautifully with ginger spice. The herbal nuances develop a subtle depth, while Sichuan pepper and cardamom add a pleasant warmth. The finish is long and slightly spicy.

In addition to Kuromoji, ten other finely balanced botanicals combine to create an invigorating taste experience:

- Lemon peel adds freshness and citrus notes,
- Juniper berries provide the classic gin base,
- Coriander and angelica bring spicy depth,
- Licorice provides tart and balsamic notes,
- Ginger and cinnamon provide spicy warmth,
- Sichuan pepper lends a subtle tingling note,
- Cardamom seduces with an exotic bouquet,
- Caraway rounds off the composition with its gentle herbal note.

Kanoshizuku Gin is a refreshingly different interpretation of a classic dry gin with a Japanese touch. Its elegant aroma makes it highly mixable. It is also a great base for a gin and tonic. This gin also shows its balanced complexity with soda (Gin Sonic), neat on ice or in a cocktail. The bottle is an absolute eye-catcher on the shelf, as the elegant look reflects the clarity and purity of the product: handcrafted, fresh, high-quality. The label on the front is printed with a small, embroidered kuromoji leaf with silver foil and a kuromoji branch on the back.

About the manufacturer

Headquartered in Shibuya, Tokyo, Yomeishu is best known in Japan for the eponymous "Yomeishu". It is Japan's oldest alcoholic herbal medicine, with a history dating back to 1602. Yomeishu has a wealth of experience in the use of plants and herbs in the production of alcohol. While many similar products such as Chartreuse or Jägermeister have moved away from their medicinal roots and have long been found in bars around the world, Yomeishu is still considered more of a medicinal drink and is sold in pharmacies across the country.
The Yomeishu production facility is located in Komagane in Nagano Prefecture, picturesquely situated in the Japanese Central Alps. The factory can also be visited. Surrounded by impressive nature, forests, mountains and streams, the plant is a wonderful playground for adults. There is, for example, a great restaurant, a farm store, an ice cream parlor, a sales room for Yomeishu products with the possibility of tasting and, of course, insights into the exciting production process. It's easy to spend a whole day here.
At the beginning of 2019, Yomeishu launched three craft spirits in addition to its main product and liqueurs: Kanomori gin, Kanoshizuku gin and a craft gin cocktail. Yomeishu is also keen to make a contribution to climate protection and had a solar park built in Tsurugashima City in Saitama Prefecture, north of Tokyo, in 2013. This generates electricity for 400 to 500 households every year.
