The Japanese love citrus fruits in all their variations and flavors. Known as "kankitsu" in Japan, the country probably has the largest variety in the world. There are currently over 100 known citrus varieties in Japan. The most popular and best-known citrus fruit is the yuzu, a cross between the hardy Ichang lemon and a mandarin orange. It is fresh and fruity and has a characteristically intense, slightly bitter taste. It is hard to imagine Japanese and now also European cuisine without the yuzu. The Japanese also use yuzu to create unusual drinks. Our yuzu tasting will introduce you to the world of yuzu liqueurs, yuzu sake, yuzu umeshu and more. We will taste 6 delicious yuzu products as well as a yuzu spritz.
At our exclusive tasting events, you will learn all about the producers, production methods and drinking methods of our fine products. Of course, we will also let you taste plenty of them and tell you exciting and funny anecdotes from our trips to Japan. The tasting starts at 18:00 and will be held in German. The tasting lasts up to 2 hours, until 20:00.
