A combination that could hardly be more delicious: Tsukushi Umeshu is the perfect combination of Umeshu and the finest Yamecha tea, a local specialty from Fukuoka. The result is a liqueur with a balance of beautiful sweetness and pleasant acidity with an intense aroma of green tea.

Description

Producer of the Green Tea Umeshus is Nishiyoshida Shuzo, based in Fukuoka Prefecture. The alcoholic basis of the liqueur is the finest Honkaku Barley Shochu, which the company has been producing in a long tradition since 1887. The Yamecha tea, a green tea as well as a speciality of the prefecture, is mixed with the first mash (Moromi) of the shochu and distilled afterwards. The umes are then steeped in the shochu. The result is an extremely delicate liqueur that will delight both umeshu fans and green tea fans. The refreshing sourness and aroma of the umes harmonize perfectly with the taste and astringency of the green tea. Umeshu, by the way, is Japan's most popular liquor. In recent years, more and more variants are coming on the market, such as this special Umeshu with green tea.

The Tsukushi Umeshu can be enjoyed pure or on ice. It also tastes great with soda (1:1). It is also a great component for cocktails.

Important note: Since the filtration is kept to a minimum so that the fragrance component does not escape, the liqueur may be slightly cloudy. Please shake well before use. The product contains tea, for this reason colour changes are possible after opening. This in no way affects the taste or quality of this product. After opening, please store in the refrigerator.

About Nishiyoshida Shuzo

Nishiyoshida was founded in 1887 and is based in Chikugo City in Fukuoka Prefecture. Next to Saga, Fukuoka Prefecture is Japan's second largest barley producer. The barley here is very high quality and aromatic as it grows on volcanic soil. The region is also blessed with the waters of the Chikogu River, which are particularly pure and mild. Nishiyoshida is a company rich in tradition, but modernity is also very important to them. That is why new techniques are constantly being tried out to optimise shochu production and achieve ever better taste experiences. Nishiyoshida's mission is to bring a smile to their customers' faces with every sip of their products. The company succeeds very well in this.
