The Togouchi Beer Cask Finish is an exceptional Japanese whisky that combines the traditional art of distillation with creative maturation. Initially stored in former bourbon barrels, it receives its special note through a subsequent six-month maturation in IPA beer barrels. This combination gives it a fascinating depth and an unmistakable aroma. This whisky is neither chill-filtered nor colored, which ensures that its natural character is fully preserved.

The Togouchi Beer Cask Finish has a radiant golden hue with amber reflections. The aroma is complex and multi-layered: fine malt nuances combine with subtle hoppy notes reminiscent of a freshly tapped beer. On the palate, there is a balance of sweet caramel, a gentle hop bitterness and a spicy note that gives the whisky structure and depth.
The finish is pleasantly soft, with a delicate, lingering sweetness that lingers elegantly and makes you want to take the next sip.

Aroma: Fruity with citrus nuances and cereals.

Taste: Full-bodied with hops and cornflakes.

About the manufacturer

The SAKURAO Brewery and Distillery was founded under the name Chugoku Jozo in 1918 in the Sakurao district of Hatsukaichi City, Hiroshima Prefecture. Initially a producer of shochu and sake, the company has been producing the famous Togouchi whisky since 1990, for which the distillates are imported from Scotland and Canada. Only the storage and blending are carried out by the SAKURAO Brewery. However, storage takes place in a very special place: the city's 361-metre-long railroad tunnel, which has never been completed, is used to store the fine spirits. The temperature here is 14 degrees Celsius all year round and the humidity is 80%, ideal conditions for maturing shochu and whisky.

Since December 2017, the company has been involved in the production of western craft spirits following the establishment of another production facility, the Sakurao Distillery. The first spirit was the Sakurao Gin Original, followed shortly afterwards by special editions of this gin series, the Sakurao Gin Limited and the Sakurao Gin Hamagou, both in small quantities. The hundred years of experience in the production of spirits is certainly one reason why Sakurao Gin tastes so fantastic. In 2018, the company then released its natural liqueur series with "Hassaku Rocks", "Yuzu Rocks" and "Lemon Rocks". The company's first single malt whisky has been available since 2021. In March 2021, the company changed its name to SAKURAO Brewery and Distillery Co. Ltd.
