The Yaesen Taruchozo Awamori is a cask-aged Awamori with 43% vol. After production, it matures for 3 to 8 years in French white oak barrels and is then blended. The Yaesen Taruchozo has a slightly sweet aroma and a complex taste. Awamori is Okinawa's traditional spirit, which is always produced from (Thai) rice and black koji. It is also known as "Island Sake".

Taruchozo Awamori is produced by Yaesen Shuzo on the small island of Ishigaki, which is part of the Yaeyama archipelago. The island, which belongs to Okinawa Prefecture, boasts a subtropical climate, great beaches and a unique culture. A real insider tip for vacationers. The Taruchozo Awamori is very mild and round due to its long barrel ageing and transports you to its paradisiacal homeland from the very first sip. Fine vanilla notes from the barrel are paired with earthy and spicy notes of black koji. This Awamori has enormous complexity and a beautiful rice aroma. It is produced using traditional kiln distillation. The product has been produced for over 50 years and is the distillery's bestseller. In Okinawa, Yaesen Taruchozo is known to everyone simply as the "green bottle".

Yaesen Taruchozo is a true collector of ribbons and is regularly recognized for its high quality at international competitions. For example, at the ISC 2021 with the gold medal and at the Tokyo Whisky Spirits Competition (TWSC) 2020 and 2021 with Superior Gold.

Taruchozo not only appeals to Awamori lovers, but also to fans of cask-aged spirits such as whisky, rum or brandy. It can be enjoyed neat or on the rocks, lengthened with soda or cold water and is a fantastic cocktail ingredient.

About the manufacturer

For example, the combination of traditional production methods such as direct kiln distillation, which has been handed down since ancient times on the island of Ishigaki, and the long-term storage of its products in Western barrels. The company is an absolute pioneer in the industry when it comes to barrel storage of Awamori.
