Coffee and Chestnuts: Two Flavors for a Cool Fall Evening
Nov. 2, 2026
The roasted aromas of coffee add a lovely depth to a cocktail. Its subtle bitterness balances out sweetness, and notes of cocoa, nuts, or dark chocolate make even a few simple ingredients taste surprisingly complex. It’s no wonder that coffee has earned a permanent place behind bar counters around the world.
Our "Dark Harvest" cocktail plays precisely on this flavor profile, bringing together three rather intriguing Japanese ingredients. Niseko Coffee Shochu delivers a clean, elegant note of coffee and roasted flavors. Added to this is Dover Maron Liqueur, which, with its sweet, nutty chestnut character, is perfect for cooler days. Finally, coffee liqueur enhances the drink’s dark, intense character.
You need:
- 4 cl Niseko Coffee Shochu
- 1.5 cl Dover Maron Liqueur
- 2 cl coffee liqueur
Stir all the ingredients vigorously with plenty of ice until very cold, then strain into a pre-chilled coupette.
