An absolute specialty from Hokkaido is the Niseko Coffee Shochu, which is best enjoyed on the rocks and mixed with cold milk. Made from spring water from Mount Yotei, rice and coffee beans (over 9%) from Honduras, this shochu is extremely aromatic and has an intense coffee flavor. The coffee beans are fermented and then distilled, which is why the color of this shochu is clear and colorless.
