Description

Okinawa is located 640 km south of the rest of Japan and is known for its subtropical climate. Therefore Okinawa offers best growing conditions for tropical fruits. The archipelago is famous for its pineapple, which is absolutely delicious and is shipped from here to the whole country. In Nago, where the Helios Distillery is located, there is also the famous Pineapple Park, which offers fun for the whole family and lots of information about pineapples.

The alcoholic basis of Pineapple liqueur is the famous Kura Awamori, which has been produced by Helios Distillery for almost 60 years. It matures for three years in untreated American oak barrels and has a full body with creamy notes. The marriage of this delicious and slightly tart spirit with the sweetness of pineapple is a stroke of genius of the small manufactory.

The Okinawa Fruits Club Pineapple is a poem both straight and on the rocks, but is also suitable for refining cocktails and desserts or mixing, for example with Prosecco or sparkling wine.

About the Helios Distillery

The Helios Distillery, founded in 1961 in Nago on Okinawa Hontō, the main island of Okinawa, is one of about 50 Awamori distilleries in Okinawa Prefecture. Although it is very young for an awamori distillery (some distilleries on the islands date back to the 19th century and are still in operation today), it produces a wide range of products. In addition to Awamori, aged in classic ceramic urns, steel tanks or wooden barrels, the company also produces rum from local sugar cane, craftberry and fruit liqueurs such as the Okinawa Fruits Club. From the very beginning, Helios' concept was to produce mainly spirits from local ingredients from Okinawa. The city of Nago, where the distillery is located, is known for its high quality water. This is certainly one of the reasons why Helios products are so tasty.
