Tan Taka Tan is pretty much a household name in Japan. Made with red shiso (perilla) from the town of Shiranukacho on Hokkaido, Tan Taka Tan Shiso Shochu has absolute cult status in Japan. Producer Oenon Holdings is now following up on this success with Tan Taka Tan Gin. In addition to red shiso, another 5 botanicals are used, including orange peel and angelica root. The red shiso for Tan Taka Tan Gin is grown exclusively by contract farmers in the town of Shiranuka in Hokkaido. The shiso flavor in Tan Taka Tan Gin is very subtle and subtle, and comes through especially nicely in the finish. Under the umbrella of Oenon sake, shochus, chuhais and more are produced. The company name is derived from the Greek goddess Oeno, who allegedly had the power to turn everything she wanted into wine.
