Suntory Kanade Matcha - The Japanese Craft Liqueur

Kanade craft liqueurs are the result of over 100 years of Suntory craftsmanship and are produced at the Yamazaki distillery in Osaka. The Kanade Matcha liqueur is made using high-quality stone-ground Matcha and Gyokuro tea leaves from Uji, Kyoto. The tea and tea leaves are soaked in alcohol for a long period of time before being distilled. This process creates an extremely natural taste. Beautiful, characteristic bitter notes and a pleasant acidity are combined with a complex and intense aroma.

The bottle design is also very special. The bottle itself features the famous Japanese Shippo pattern. These overlapping circles have two meanings: On the one hand, the seven treasures of Buddhism, but also the "cloisonné", a goldsmith's technique for making metal jewelry, decorated with semi-precious stones. The label is made of high-quality washi paper.

The Suntory Kanade Matcha liqueur can be enjoyed neat or on the rocks. It is also fantastic as an exciting ingredient for cocktails and long drinks (for example with milk as a matcha latte or calpis) and as a sparkling aperitif.

Suntory is one of the five largest spirits producers in the world and Japan's largest whisky producer with a market share of 70 percent. Nowadays, the company can hardly be saved from prizes for its great whiskies. Suntory also became famous through the film "Lost in Translation" by Sofia Coppola with Bill Murray in the leading role.
