New from us and perfect for the current cherry blossom season: the DEN-EN Gold Sakura Cask Shochu! This is a barley shochu (mugi shochu) that is aged for over three years in sakura casks, i.e. casks made from Japanese cherry blossom wood. The DEN-EN Gold Sakura Cask therefore has a subtly floral aroma, a light scent of cherry blossom and an exciting complexity. It is a Genshu Shochu, which is bottled at 40% vol. A great specialty on the shochu market.
Producer DEN-EN Shuzo is considered a pioneer in the field of barrel-aged shochu. The very first shochu was placed in a cask here in 1956. The company is constantly creating new innovations in the field of cask storage, including the Sakura Cask.
This shochu is guaranteed to delight every whisky drinker, but of course not just them. It can be drunk neat, on ice or extended with water or soda. This shochu is also a dream as a base for cocktails.
