JIN7 Limited

The JIN7 Limited is a Japanese craft gin from Oyama Jinchichi Shoten and is made with 21 botanicals. The focus is on tropical fruits, all of which come from the Kagoshima prefecture. The key botanical is passion fruit. This gin is extremely fruity and refreshing and is sure to delight any fan of a fruity juniper distillate. The JIN7 Limited is only produced in a very small batch of 1,096 bottles and is a real rarity. It is a unique limited edition from the popular JIN7 series.

Description

The producer of JIN7 is Oyama Jinshichi Shoten in Ibusuki in the extreme south of Kyushu. The small distillery has been producing the finest Imo (sweet potato) Shochus since 1875, which is also the basis for the JIN7 Limited. A Japanese gin could hardly be more exotic. This extremely fruity gin is made with a total of 21 botanicals. Twenty of them come from the prefecture of Kagoshima, only the juniper berries are imported from northern Macedonia. Among others, passion fruit, star fruit, dragon fruit, plum, blueberry, Tahitian lime, watermelon, cucumber, tomato, shishito (Japanese chilli), ginger and shiso are used. These extremely fruity components meet herbal botanicals typical of the JIN7 range, such as rose geranium, mint, Mexican marigold or lemongrass, which come from Japan's oldest herb garden "Kaimon Sanroku" in Ibusuki.

More than 400 passion fruits are used. Flesh and skin are distilled separately to better extract the aroma. While the passion fruit with its tropical scent is dominant at the beginning, the refreshing aroma of lime and the herbal nuances come to the fore afterwards. In the finish, juniper berry, ginger and the fresh smell of shiso as well as mint show up. Only 1,096 bottles of this great gin were produced, a unique promotion by the distillery. Each bottle is marked with a number.

The bottle design of the JIN7 Limited is particularly elegant. While the neck of the bottle is decorated with wax and looks like a candle, the bottle label features a clothing label with the botanicals. The label of the Limited Edition shines in bright silver. This is a reminder that Oyama Shoten owned a kimono shop in the 19th century, which they sold to be able to found the distillery.

About Oyama Jinshichi Shoten

Oyama Jinshichi Shoten was founded in 1875 in Miyagahama, Ibusuki, Kagoshima Prefecture. Since then, the company has been producing the finest imo (sweet potato) shochus. It is a small distillery that produces true craft products. Since September 2019, the distillery now also produces gin, the botanicals for which come from Japan's oldest herb garden "Kaimon Sanroku". Before 1875, the family also owned a kimono store in addition to the distillery. That's why there areclothing labels on the labels of the JIN7 bottles. With this, the producers always want to rememberthe historical roots of the family.
